Christina D'Arrigo was born and raised in Queens, New York, and she has been dancing since age three. At age seven, she got accepted into Elliot Feld's Ballet Tech School, and she began dancing along side his company at the famous Joyce Theater in New York City. While attending The Ballet Tech School, she performed many of Feld's works. She was also an original cast member in Charlotte Griffin's In Full Swing, which was a part of Feld's spring season of Kids Dance in 2001.
Christina attended high school at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and graduated in 2006 with a major in dance. LaGuardia High School, which is better known as the school from the 1980 film Fame, allowed Christina to realize her passion for choreography when she was able to showcase one of her collaborative works titled Sleepers Awake during her third and forth years.
In May 2010, Christina graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California with a Bachelor of Arts in dance and a minor in studio arts. She is currently a dance teacher in New York, but she has also taught dance to students in Los Angeles, California and Vail, Colorado. She is one of the choreographers and Co-Founders of ChEckiT!Dance.
Thus far, ChEckiT!Dance has performed at their self-produced Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser Performance in October 2010 and Green Space’s Fertile Ground Series in November 2010. They are scheduled to perform at Dixon Place’s Body Blend in March 2011, at Steps on Broadway in their Performance Lab Series in April 2011, and at the New York City Dance Parade on May 21, 2011.
In September 2011, Christina plans on attending Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, England to achieve her Masters Degree in choreography.
